Makes me kind of wonder why everyone doesn't try to go for either the Vegabond or the Machariel.
Is it just because the costs behind it are so intense that they can't or don't wish to risk it?
Some of us actually like a challenge instead of jumping on the Vagabond/Machariel bandwagon. Also, with CCP having the tendency to nerf every race and every ship at least once in it's lifetime, it'll be fun when it's the Mach's turn.
You're joking right?
The mach, vaga, typhoon, and basically every minmatar ship with a little bit of speed, has been nerfed REPEATEDLY by CCP.
First nerf: speed nerf mk1 Second nerf: tackle nerf mk1 Third nerf: speed nerf mk3
If you seriously think it hasn't been nerfed enough you are either a newbie that wasn't there for all the nerfs, or you are just plain ignorant.
Also, the reason not everyone and their grandmother flies a machariel, as mentioned earlier, is that you have to AT THE VERY LEAST faction fit it (and a deadspace booster/repper is kind of mandatory really). Other than that YES it is an AWESOME ship, and yes it does perform A WHOLE LOT of things VERY VERY WELL... but the problem is that at 700mil for the ship ALONE you could buy 5 T2 fit battleships and still have money left over (insurance calculated in obv since mach doesn't have insurance)
In case of the vagabond, at the moment there is one VERY good reason not to buy one, and it's called the Cynabal. Another big problem the vaga has is that it isn't THAT MUCH faster than for instance a nanoed hurricane. The hurri however DOES do more damage and DOES have more buffertank. Sure it won't catch a vaga.. but it'll catch most (if not all) of the targets a vaga could catch. And then once you factor in the price after insurance I really can't think of a good reason why anyone shouldn't buy 3-5 canes instead of one vaga. __________________________________________________
